SOFTBALL DROPS SERIES FINALE AT HOFSTRA

FINAL SCORE

Monmouth (4-18, 4-5 CAA) – 0

HEMPSTEAD, NY – Hofstra combined to throw a complete-game shutout and rode a two-run homer in the first inning to a 3-0 victory over the Monmouth softball team in the final game of this weekend's CAA series on Sunday afternoon at Bill Edwards Stadium.

Meghan Giordano's home run followed a leadoff single in the home half of the first and put the Pride ahead 2-0 early on against Monmouth starter Billie Kerwood. The Pride added an insurance run on RBI single in the sixth inning and held Monmouth's offense off the board despite the Hawks threating with baserunners in scoring position in the second, third and seventh innings.
