WILLIAMSBURG, VA – Monmouth University Baseball got two run-scoring hits from
Phil Stahl, but the Hawks were defeated in the CAA weekend opener at William & Mary Friday, 8-3. Stahl ran his hitting streak to a season-long 18 games.

A big second inning saw the Tribe score five times to jump to a 5-0 lead. MU responded by getting on the board in the third via a Stahl two-out RBI knock, and after William & Mary scored in the home third, an error plated another Hawk two-out run in the fifth to make it 6-2. Stahl drove in another run in the ninth as the Hawks had two aboard and threatened, but the Tribe locked down the 8-3 victory.
