JACK COLLINS NAMED TO CAA ALL-ROOKIE TEAM

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Men's Basketball guard Jack Collins has been recognized as one of the top freshmen in the Colonial Athletic Association, earning a spot on the CAA All-Rookie team, league officials announced Thursday.

Collins ranks second on the team at 10.1 points per game, and is first in minutes played, averaging 31.0 per contest. He leads the Hawks with 56 made threes and in steals with 57. Collins is one of two rookies in the CAA averaging double figures, and has posted 16 games in double digits this year. He had 22 points in a win over North Carolina A&T with five threes on November 13, and also made five triples in a 20-point night at Syracuse.

Collins is the fourth All-Rookie selection under King Rice across three different leagues, joining Dion Nesmith (2012, NEC) as well as Micah Seaborn (2016, MAAC) and Deion Hammond (2018, MAAC) in earning rookie honors. Collins was twice named CAA Rookie of the Week this season.

The Hawks take on Hampton in the 2023 CAA Tournament in Washington, DC tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
