VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – The Monmouth University track and field programs took on their new conference rivals at the inaugural Colonial Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championships down in Virginia Beach, VA.
Dalton Yeust stole the show during the men's pole vault championship. Yeust broke the Monmouth program record for the second time in as many weeks. The redshirt sophomore won gold, clearing 5.10m becoming the first man to clear the 5.00m at the CAA Championships since 2016.
Connor Bennett tied a PR and won the silver medal with a mark of 4.65m.
Mujeeb Ali won the first ever CAA medal in Monmouth history – a silver in the men's weight throw. Ali's best throw of the meet was 17.72m.
The Hawks also took silver in the men's distance medley relay, which was the final event of the day.

Kevin Collura,
Luke Riley, and
Ryan Tarapchak combined to post a time of 10:04.98.
Eight different Hawks qualified for the running championships in six different events to take place on Thursday.
Yasmeen Tinsley (400m, 60mH),
Ashley Navarro (800m, Mile), and
Louis DiLaurenzio (800m, Mile) will be appearing in two each.
With three events remaining,
David Strong leads the heptathlon table with 2695 points.
Currently, the men's team leads the team scoring with 51 points with Northeastern trailing by 11. The women's team has eight points.
