Belle Kranbuhl was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon.
To be named to the Academic All-District squad, student-athletes must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 or better and be a significant contributor. Kranbuhl advances to the Academic All-American ballot now.
Kranbuhl has been a defensive force for the Hawks throughout the season. She has appeared in 25 games and made 24 starts for Monmouth.
She has 44 blocks this season and has ranked among the national and Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in that category for most of the season. Kranbuhl has a season-high five blocks in a game twice. Kranbuhl has at least one block in 21 of 25 games this season.
Kranbuhl leads the team in rebounding as she is averaging 6.4 rebounds per game. She has five games with double digit rebounds and pulled down a season-high 13 boards at Brown. Kranbuhl has at least two rebounds in every game this season.
Kranbuhl is also contributing 5.4 points per game. She has four games in double figures and recorded a double-double in the win over NJIT.
