MEN’S DMR SCHOOL RECORD HIGHLIGHTS BIG T&F WEEKEND

BOSTON, MA – The Monmouth University track and field program competed in two meets this weekend, the Fastrack National Invitational (Staten Island, NY) and the Boston University Valentine Invitational (Boston, MA), and came back to West Long Branch with a new school record in the men's distance medley relay.

Stone Caraccio, Jalen Jones, Ian Moore, and Louis DiLaurenzio combined for a time of 9:37.38, which took first place Friday evening in Boston. That mark shattered the previous Monmouth indoor record by 9.42 seconds set in 2013. It is the leading mark in the CAA this season by nearly 20 seconds, and currently ranks fifth in the NCAA after being the country's top time of the weekend.

Isabella Leak, Yasmeen Tinsley, Grace Mary Kearns, and Ashley Navarro kept the momentum rolling on day two in Boston by placing sixth in the women's DMR with a time of 11:34.49. It's the CAA-leading time this season, ranks 37th in the country, and is the fifth-fastest time in school history.

The Hawks performed well in the mile events, too. DiLaurenzio (4:01.63, second), Caraccio (4:05.88, fourth), Declan McDonnell (4:07.60, fifth), and Tennessee Tremain (4:10.10, ninth) all set PRs in Boston and made the Top Ten list. James Martinez ran a strong 4:11.37, while Isabella Leak now holds the school's sixth-fastest women's mile time at 4:53.62.

Tinsley ran the fifth-fastest women's 400m in Monmouth history with a time of 55.91, currently the sixth-best time in the conference. Moore now ranks seventh amongst the school's 800m leaders with a time of 1:52.28, and Navarro set a new PR in the women's 800m, replacing herself at No. 2 all-time in Monmouth history at 2:07.14.

In Boston, Marisa Kilgarriff notched the sixth-best time in school history in the women's 5000m at 17:12.71. At the Fastrack National Invitational, McKenzie Delahanty placed first in the same event, and sits in seventh place on the Top Ten list with a time of 17:18.59.

The Hawks had one particularly impressive field performance this weekend: Natalie Rolon-Issa's shot put throw of 13.71m, which occurred in Staten Island on Friday and ranks seventh in school indoor history.

Additionally, Danny Fenton, Jordan Ricketts, Kevin Collura, and Jones teamed up to produce the ninth-best men's 4x400m relay time in school history, 3:15.32.
