FOUR HAWKS NAMED TO CSC ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Four members of the Monmouth University women's soccer team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
 
Goalkeeper Cassie Coster, defender Ava Allen and forwards Rachel Ludwick and Summer Reimet were honored as the team was released. 
 
To be named Academic All-District, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better and competed in at least 90% of the team's games.
 
A business major in the classroom, Coster turned in another stellar season for the Hawks in net and led the Hawks to a berth in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championship. A Second Team All-CAA selection for the second straight year, Coster started all 19 matches in goal. She posted a 0.78 goals against average and a .817 save percentage with 11 shutouts. Coster finished the year with an 11-6-2 record as she held 15 opponents to one goal or less and opened CAA play with seven straight shutouts. She was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week twice and also earned a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week. 
 
Allen is a biochemistry major, who was a key cog in the Hawks' defensive presence. She started all 19 games for the Hawks as she helped Monmouth post 11 shutouts and hold 15 opponents to one goal or less. She also had the ability to push up and create offensive opportunities as she took 20 shots on the year. Off the field she has received the Outstanding Achievement in General Chemistry award at Monmouth and is a member of the Honors School. She has done shadow hours in a pediatrician's office to prepare her for med school after graduation.
 
Ludwick is a biochemistry major who helped create opportunities on the offensive end all season long. She appeared in 18 games and made five starts for the Hawks. Ludwick scored a goal in the Hawks' 3-1 road win over UNCW. She took 23 shots on the year and put nine of those chances on goal. 
 
Reimet is a graphic design major who was a factor on the offensive end for the Hawks throughout the season. She appeared in 18 matches and made six starts for the Hawks. Reimet finished the year with three goals and two assists for five points. She tallied the game-winning goal in overtime of the CAA semifinals which sent the Hawks to the Championship match. She also scored the game-winner at Hampton and had a goal in the Hawks' win over Charleston that clinched a spot in the CAA Tournament. She picked up assists versus Campbell and FDU.
