STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Olle Brorsson's first two career goals helped power the Monmouth University men's soccer team to a thrilling 2-0 victory at Stony Brook University in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play on Friday afternoon.

The Hawks came out and applied the pressure immediately, as they fired off five shots in the game's first 20 minutes.

While Monmouth applied the pressure on offense, the Hawks defense was locked in. Monmouth limited Stony Brook to just four shots and only one on goal in the first 45 minutes. Eryk Dymora's save sent the two teams into the half tied at 0-0.

The Hawks broke through just over four minutes into the second half. Monmouth put the ball in play on a free kick and Brorsson headed home his first career goal at 49:22. Gabe Dahlin and Bastian Hatcher picked up assists on the Monmouth tally.

Just about five minutes later, the Hawks struck again. Erik Reis put the ball in play on a corner kick and Brorsson headed it home for a 2-0 Monmouth advantage.

The two teams battled on both ends of the pitch over the final 30 minutes of the contest but a pair of late saves from Eryk Dymora helped secure a 2-0 victory.
