MCCONNOCHIE'S GOAL HELPS MONMOUTH TIE LA SALLE

FINAL SCORE
Monmouth 1 (7-3-5)
La Salle 1 (5-7-4)

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Arturo McConnochie scored an early goal and helped the Monmouth University men's soccer team battle to a 1-1 tie at La Salle University on Tuesday evening.

The Hawks applied the pressure right out of the gate in this one and in the ninth minute it paid off. Monmouth was awarded a corner kick and Erik Reis put the ball into play. McConnochie was able to settle the ball in the box and knock it home for his third goal of the year and a 1-0 lead.

Monmouth continued to battle and carried that 1-0 advantage into the half time break.

The Hawks took two of the first three shots in the second half.

La Salle found a way to get the equalizer in the 64th minute as Sean Yurgel slipped one past the Hawks.

Both teams had their chances down the stretch, but neither was able to capitalize, and the contest ended in a 1-1 draw.

NOTES AND QUOTES
