COSTER'S BIG DAY LIFTS MONMOUTH OVER DREXEL, 1-0

FINAL SCORE
Monmouth 1 (6-3-1, 5-0-1 CAA)

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Cassie Coster made a season-high nine saves to power the Monmouth University women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Drexel University in Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) play on Sunday afternoon.

The win was the fifth straight for the Hawks and their sixth straight shutout to begin CAA action.

Both goalkeepers were tested early in this one as Coster and Drexel's Joella Chase each had a save to their credit in the first 12 minutes of the action.

The goalkeepers proved more than up to the test in the first 45 minutes of the contest as Coster had five saves and Chase made four. Coster came out to meet the Drexel attackers and had a couple of balls she was able to punch out of trouble.

Monmouth and Drexel went into the halftime break tied at 0-0.

Both teams created opportunities to start the second half, but it was Monmouth that broke through in the 65th minute. Loren Gehret brough a ball up the far sideline and crossed it through the box. Julia Evernham was waiting by the post closest to the Monmouth bench and tucked it home for the 1-0 advantage.

Coster had a pair of saves down the stretch as Monmouth claimed the 1-0 victory.
