Jen Louro poured in a career-high 25 points but it was not enough as the Monmouth University women's basketball fell to Towson University, 63-57 on Sunday afternoon in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) action.

In addition to Louro's 25 points the Hawks got 10 points from
Ariana Vanderhoop.
Belle Kranbuhl led the defensive efforts with eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Ryann Evans led Towson with 14 points while Anissa Rivera added 11 points and six rebounds.

Towson quickly opened up an 8-0 advantage in the first quarter. The Hawks responded with a 17-7 run and took a 17-15 lead after one period of play. Louro scored 11 in that stretch for MU. Monmouth scored the first 10 points of the second quarter and pushed its lead to 27-15 with 7:05 to go in the half. Vanderhoop and
Amiya Carroll each hit a three-pointer in that stretch. Towson responded by scoring the game's next 19 points and took a 34-27 lead with 2:36 to go until the break. Louro hit another three-pointer and Monmouth went into the break trailing by just four, 36-32.

Kaci Donovan scored the first four points of the third quarter and tied the game at 36-36. The two teams traded points as
Jania Hall hit a jumper at 4:19 that tied the game at 40-40. Trailing 42-40, Towson used a 10-0 run to take a 50-42 lead. Back-to-back buckets from
Lucy Thomas pulled the Hawks to within three, 50-47. Towson used eight straight points from Rivera to extend its lead and eventually claimed the 63-57 win.
