HAWKS EARN FIRST CAA WIN, 3-2 OVER #17 UD IN OT

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Aylin Aufenacker scored twice, including the overtime winner as Monmouth University Field Hockey (2-1, 1-0 CAA) earned the program's first ever CAA victory Sunday over the 17th-ranked University of Delaware (1-3, 0-1 CAA). The win is the program's fourth all time against a ranked opponent.

After Morgan Del Rigual got UD on the board, a streaking Katie Yoder buried one off the far post less than a minute into the second quarter to get even. A bounding ball found the back of the cage for the Blue Hens in the third to make it 2-1 into the fourth.

With just two minutes remaining, Monmouth used a corner to set up Aufenacker on the left side and she converted to tie the game. In the extra session, Yoder led Aufenacker down the left side and her shot found the right side of the cage for the game-winning goal.
