HAWKS REMAIN UNDEFEATED ON THE ROAD AFTER 2-0 WIN OVER NJIT

NEWARK, N.J. – In its penultimate non-conference match, the Monmouth University women's soccer team once again picked up a victory on the road, downing in-state foe NJIT by a score of 2-0.
 
The Hawks opened the scoring in the tenth minute when A'Liah Moore scored her second goal of the season off a Summer Reimet assist. The score would remain 1-0 until midway through the second half when Ava Allen headed in a corner kick from Lauren Karabin in the 71st minute to give Monmouth a 2-0 lead.
 
Cassie Coster made two saves behind the Monmouth backline en route to her fifth shutout performance of the campaign.
 
NOTES
-Monmouth is now 11-1 all-time against NJIT
-All 11 of those wins have been shutouts
-It's just the third time in program history that the Hawks have started 4-0 on the road (1999, 1995)
-It's the first time they've won six of their first seven matches since 2008
-It's the sixth time MU has notched at least five shutouts in their first seven contests (2014, 2013, 2000, 1995, 1990)
-For the fifth time this season, the Hawks opened the scoring within the first ten minutes of the match
-Moore tallied the ninth goal of her career
-Allen's goal was the third of her career
-Coster now leads the CAA with five shutouts
-The sophomore goalkeeper raised her career clean sheet total to ten
 
NUMBERS CRUNCH
-Monmouth tallied a season-high 21 shots compared to three for NJIT
-The Hawks had ten shots on goal while the Highlanders had two
-MU earned ten corner kicks with NJIT receiving three
-NJIT committed more fouls, 6-2
-The Highlanders notched more saves, making eight compared to two for Monmouth
