PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Monmouth University women's soccer team closed out the weekend with a 2-0 road victory over Providence to improve to 5-1 on the season.

The Hawks took another early lead in the contest, capitalizing on a scoring opportunity in the sixth minute.
Summer Reimet brought the ball up the near side and sent a cross from the end line towards the net, with
Maddison Perna heading it in for her first goal of the season. Monmouth found the back of the net again in the 21
st minute when
A'Liah Moore passed off to
Rachel Ludwick, who created space just inside the 18-yard box and sent a shot to the top-left of the goal, increasing the lead to 2-0.

The two teams played to a scoreless second half as goalkeeper
Cassie Coster posted her fourth solo clean sheet of the season, making three saves on the afternoon.
