LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – In its final road trip of the season, the Monmouth University softball team (9-38, 4-14 MAAC) earned a split with Rider (28-23-1, 11-9 MAAC) on Wednesday afternoon. Each squad picked up a shutout victory, with Monmouth taking game one 3-0 and Rider emerging victorious in game two 7-0.
 
Kylie Gletow crafted a gem in the circle in the first game, tossing a complete game shutout for the Hawks. The right-hander allowed six hits and two walks over her seven innings of work while collecting two strikeouts. MU got on the board in the fourth inning when Danielle Dominik sent a two-out RBI single up the middle, bringing around Stavi Augur who began the frame with a single to right center. Following a single by Francesca Torraca in the top of sixth, Lindsey Baron sent her third home run of the season over the fence in left field, extending Monmouth's lead to three runs.
 
The Broncs came out quickly in game two, scoring five times in the home half of the first. They added a run apiece in the fourth and fifth frames. Augur, Baron, and Devin Coia each notched one hit in the contest.

-Gletow's CGSO was her first since April 27, 2021 against Saint Peter's
-She also picked up the 19th win of her career
-Baron's home run was the 20th of her career, which is tied for sixth all-time in program history
-With two RBIs in game one, she also tallied her third multi-RBI game of the campaign
-Dominik's RBI was her eighth of the season which is fifth on the team
-Abby Warner threw out her 23rd runner of the season in game two, a mark that leads the nation
-Torraca stole her seventh base of the season in game one and is now 7-8 in steal attempts
-Augur extended her hitting streak to five games which ties a personal season-high
-MU's top four hitters in the lineup—Augur, Torraca, Baron, and Dominik—each had one of the team's four hits in game one
-The Hawks committed zero errors in the first game, the tenth time this season they've accomplished a clean effort defensively
 
NUMBERS CRUNCH
-In game one, the Hawks left two runners on base while the Broncs left six
-Monmouth left eight runners on base in the second game compared to ten for Rider
-With two games to go, Baron is slashing .303/.400/.493 overall
-In the conference, Augur is slashing .316/.381/.456
-The Hawks won their fifth true road game of the season
 
UP NEXT
The Hawks will return home for one final doubleheader this season. Senior Day against Quinnipiac is scheduled for this Saturday, with first pitch in game one at 12 p.m.
