LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Monmouth University softball team (8-37, 3-13 MAAC) returned to action on Sunday afternoon, dropping a pair of games to Siena (26-21, 12-6 MAAC).

The lone run for the Saints in game one came via a sacrifice fly in the home half of the second frame. Freshman pitcher
Billie Kerwood went the distance for the Hawks, allowing just one unearned run on five hits while striking out five. Offensively,
Stavi Augur collected two hits for Monmouth.

Siena scored once in the first inning, twice in the third frame, and four times in the fourth en route to a 7-1 game two victory. MU pushed across a run in their half of the fourth when
Devin Coia connected on a two-out RBI single, plating Augur. Kerwood entered as a reliever with two outs in the fourth inning and went on to toss 2.1 scoreless frames, allowing four hits while notching two strikeouts.
