BASEBALL DROPS FIRST LEAGUE GAME AT QUINNIPIAC

HAMDEN, CT – Phil Stahl hit his first career home run and the bullpen did not allow an earned run, but the Monmouth University Baseball team (17-15, 7-1 MAAC) had it's 7-0 start in league play snapped Friday by Quinnipiac University (8-20, 2-6 MAAC) 13-5.

After QU scratched across two in the first, Monmouth answered with four in the second. Jake Catalano drove in the first with a base hit, and MU got the second on an error before Dixon Black drove in a pair with a lined single to left. The Bobcats responded with five in the bottom of the inning on three home runs and didn't look back, adding six unearned runs the rest of the way to win it 13-5. Stahl homered off the bench in the ninth, his first career long ball.
