JACKSONVILLE, FL – Monmouth University Women's Golf competed in its first tournament of the spring this week at the Butler Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville, FL. MU improved by 25 shots in the second round as a team, led by a 13
th-place finish from junior
Paige Diecidue.
Diecidue led MU with a 13
th place mark, including shooting 72 in the final round, the third best score of the day axross the entire tournament. Freshman
Ava Lozito took six strokes off her opening round to post 76 on Tuesday, while
Liddie McCook fired 82 in both rounds.
Amanda Hart improved on Tuesday by 10 shots, while
Cassidy Gavaghan rounded out the MU lineup. Competing as an individual,
Claire Orr posted 75 in the final round to finish 37
th.
NOTES
-This marked Monmouth's first tournament of the spring.
-The round of 72 was the lowest of the season for Diecidue and her best since carding a 70 last April at Sacred Heart.
-Diecidue's 72 was the best score on the tournament for a Hawk, and third best in the field in the final round.
-The teams final round score of 310 is the third best round of the season.
