COLLEGE PARK, MD – On the second day of Maryland's Capital City Classic, the Monmouth University softball team (3-19) dropped a pair of contests to North Dakota State and Binghamton.

Two home runs in the fourth inning of game one helped the Bison build a 6-0 advantage over the Hawks. With one out in the sixth inning, Stavi Augur scored on a groundout by Abby Warner, getting Monmouth on the board. Kylie Gletow started the game for MU in the circle and was relieved by Billie Kerwood with one out in the fourth frame.

Binghamton did majority of its damage in the third inning, putting up five runs to take a 5-1 lead over the Hawks in game two. Monmouth cut the deficit to two in the bottom half of the fourth when, with two away and the bases loaded, Riley Riendeau sent a single to center field, bringing home Julia Thuer and Eve Serrato.
