THIRD-QUARTER SURGE PROPELS HAWKS PAST BOBCATS

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth women's basketball team completed the regular season sweep of Quinnipiac on Saturday after topping the Bobcats, 64-55, at OceanFirst Bank Center.
 
The Hawks (11-8, 6-4 MAAC) trailed the Bobcats (13-8, 8-4 MAAC) for the entirety of the first half, but flipped a switch in the third quarter. Monmouth came out of the halftime break and outscored Quinnipiac, 21-10, over the ensuing 10 minutes of action.
 
The Bobcats evened the score, 55-55, with 2:49 left to play after a 10-2 fourth quarter run, but the Hawks iced the game at the foul line by going 9-of-10 from the stripe to secure the home win.
 
Stella Clark led all Monmouth scorers with 14 points to pair with eight boards. Kaci Donovan also reached double figures in the scoring column with 10, while Antonia Panayides chipped in nine after knocking down three treys on four attempts.
