HAWKS FINISH STRONG IN ROAD WIN AT CANISIUS

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Monmouth women's basketball team erupted in the fourth quarter to surge past Canisius, 62-52, in a Thursday night MAAC contest.
 
Monmouth (13-8, 8-4 MAAC) trailed 36-33 entering the final 10 minutes of action before outscoring Canisius (3-20, 1-13 MAAC), 29-16, en route to securing the conference road victory.
 
Lucy Thomas, Stella Clark and Jen Louro spearheaded the offensive output as the trio combined for 23 of the Hawks' final 29 points. In the fourth quarter, Monmouth shot 12-of-16 (75%) from the field with eight of the makes coming from inside the paint.
 
Thomas led all Monmouth scorers with a season-high 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting to pair with seven boards and two blocks. Jania Hall wrapped up her night with 11 in the scoring column to go with five rebounds, while Clark logged 10 points, five boards and three assists.
 
Belle Kranbuhl chipped in with nine points while going 4-of-5 from the field with six rebounds and a pair of blocks.

-Thursday's game was the 19th all-time meeting between Monmouth and Canisius.
