ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Monmouth University women's basketball team used a 21-1 run in the first quarter to grab an early advantage and held on for a 76-56 win over the United States Naval Academy on Tuesday night in Alumni Hall.Â

Kaci Donovan led a balanced attack with 17 points and six rebounds for the Hawks.
Belle Kranbuhl added a season-high 10 points and three blocks, including the 100th of her career while
Bri Tinsley chipped in 14 points and eight assists. Maren Louridas led Navy with 24 points and five assists.Â

After Navy scored the first basket of the game, the Hawks rattled off a 21-1 run that covered the next 4:55. That gave the visitors a 21-3 lead with 4:01 to go in the period. MU eventually took a 24-14 lead after one period of action. Navy outscored the Hawks 14-10 in the second period but Monmouth led 34-28 at the break. Donovan got hot in the second half as she scored 13 of her team-high 17 points after the break and helped Monmouth score 21 points in both the third and fourth periods to close out the win.

- For the second straight game, the Hawks sprinted out to a quick start. Monmouth is 2-1 in games where it scores at least 20 points in the opening stanza.Â
- Monmouth featured a balanced attack in the game as 10 of the 11 players who saw time scored at least one point.Â

Belle Kranbuhl became the seventh player in program history to record at least 100 career blocks with her rejection in the first period.
- Monmouth shot 50% or better from the field for the third straight game with a season-high 54.7% against the Midshipmen.
- Monmouth used the same starting lineup for the fourth straight game.

- Monmouth dished out a season-high 22 assists as seven different players recorded at least one helper.
Bri Tinsley led that group with a career-high eight assists.Â
- MU was raining threes in the game with a season-high 11 made by the team. It was the most three-pointers made by a Hawks squad since they had 12 against Marist during the 2019-20 campaign.

Ariana Vanderhoops returned to the lineup after missing the last three games and connected on for the first three shots she took, all from the behind the arc.

Kaci Donovan. She knocked down 13 of those 17 after the half.
