FAIRFIELD, CT – The Monmouth University women's basketball team scored 17 of the game's final 22 points to pull away from Sacred Heart in a 77-62 victory over the Pioneers at Pitt Center on Sunday afternoon.

Bri Tinsley scored a career-high 25 points, including eight in the final four minutes, and handed out four assists to lead Monmouth's offensive attack. Lucy Thomas added 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting for the Hawks as Monmouth combined to shoot nearly 54 percent from the floor in the win.

Monmouth led for the entire first half before a third-quarter Sacred Heart run had the home team ahead 48-46 with two minutes to play in the period. Monmouth responded with six straight points ignited by Tinsley as she scored four and set up Lovin Marsicano for a layup during the stretch. The Pioneers made it a one-possession game four different times, but Monmouth never relinquished its lead before a 9-0 run put the contest out of reach.
