WOMEN’S SOCCER EARNS DRAW AT WILLIAM AND MARY

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Propelled by a pair of second half goals, the Monmouth University women's soccer team managed a draw at William & Mary on Sunday afternoon, playing to a final score of 2-2.
 
Ava Allen supplied the late equalizer for the Hawks, evening the match up in the 86th minute. A Julia Evernham shot following a throw in was saved by the Tribe's goalkeeper but not controlled, bouncing back into play. Chloe Ferreira was able to guide the ball to Allen who found the back of the net for the second time this season.
 
A'Liah Moore got Monmouth on the board in the 58th minute with her third tally of the campaign off a feed from Lauren Karabin. Moore's header came ten minutes after William & Mary increased their advantage to two, with the Tribe's first goal coming just 3:39 into the contest.
 
MATCH NOTES
-This was the sixth meeting all-time between the Hawks and Tribe and the first since 2009
-Monmouth is now 0-5-1 in the series after playing to a draw today
-Sammy Jones earned the starting nod for the first time this season and third time in her career
-Today was the final road game of the regular season for Monmouth
-The Hawks posted a 1-1-1 road record in CAA play this season and a 5-1-1 mark overall
-Cassie Coster played all 90 minutes in goal, making four saves
