WESTBURY, NY – Monmouth University Women's Golf captured its first team title of 2022-23 this week, topping Hofstra in a dual match on Long Island at Eisenhower Park White Golf Course. Sophomore
Ava Lozito won the tournament individually, shooting one-under par across the two rounds including a two-under 70 on the opening 18. Head Coach
Mark Bryson earned his first career tournament win in the event.
Lozito fired a 70 to open up, tying for the top score in the opening round with Hofstra's Cynthia Zhao. In the final round, Lozito's one-over 73 was enough to win the tournament by one.
Paige Diecidue and
Liddie McCook tied each other for third, each carding a one-under 71 in the event. Freshman
Sophia Ramirez Velandia placed sixth, shooting three over in the two days, while her classmate
Angela Hyoju An and senior
Claire Orr tied for 10
th.
Mia Sutton and
Jess Brehm rounded out the MU lineup.
