MEN’S SOCCER HANDLES HARTFORD ON SENIOR NIGHT

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University men's soccer team built a two-goal halftime lead and never looked back in an eventual 6-0 victory over visiting Hartford on Tuesday night at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn.

Ben Zakowski got Monmouth rolling with a pair of first half tallies, including a terrific free kick, to put the Hawks ahead. Early in the second half Chris Morandi and Griffin Tomas added on, combined with a Hartford own goal in a three-minute span to put the match out of reach. Jason Wallack tacked on a goal in the 86th minute to put the finishing touches on the win.

Eryk Dymora and Andrew Schweizer combined for the clean sheet in goal for Monmouth.
