RICHMOND, VA – Monmouth University Men's Basketball, entering its first season as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), was selected 10^th in the league's preseason coaches poll. The selections were announced Wednesday as part of CAA Media Day.
 
Towson, a team the Hawks topped a season ago, were picked first with 12 first-place votes, followed by a familiar foe for MU in Hofstra. Defending champion Delaware was third, followed by Charleston and defending CBI champ UNC Wilmington. Northeastern and Drexel were sixth and seventh respectively, before William & Mary and Stony Brook just edged out the Hawks, with Monmouth just three votes behind the Tribe and one short of the Seawolves. North Carolina A&T, Elon and Hampton were selected behind Monmouth. Hofstra's Aaron Estrada was the CAA Preseason Player of the Year.
 
MU returns seven players that saw time a year ago, while seven more could see their first action in the Blue and White this season. Monmouth opens the campaign on November 9 with a trip north to visit Seton Hall at the Prudential Center.
