MEN’S SOCCER DRAWS WITH DREXEL, 1-1

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Monmouth University men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw versus Drexel Saturday afternoon in a CAA matchup in Philadelphia. The draw is the first for the Hawks this season.
 
The Dragons capitalized on their first corner of the game, which came in the 22nd minute. Their lone shot in the first half found the back of the net off a header.
 
Senior midfielder Luke McBeth equalized in the 71st minute off a corner driven into the box by Ben Zakowski. McBeth won the initial touch and then finished off the goal with a no-look, bicycle-style shot into the net. It was McBeth's third goal of the season.
 
Both teams pushed for the win, but neither could find the back of the net again, with the final score being 1-1.
 
Ben Zakowski had 3 shots, while Jonas Lyshoj and McBeth each had two shots for the Hawks. Eryk Dymora faced just one shot on goal in the contest.
