HAWKS EARN BOUNCE-BACK WIN OVER RIDER, 63-53

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth women's basketball team secured a bounce-back victory after defeating Rider, 63-53, at OceanFirst Bank Center on Thursday night.
 
The Hawks (10-6, 5-2 MAAC) led by seven with 6:30 left to play before Stella Clark and Belle Kranbuhl combined to make several timely baskets to help Monmouth capture its 10th win of the season and the fifth in conference action.
 
Clark led all scorers in the game with 18 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Kranbuhl was a force on both ends of the floor and flirted with a triple-double. The second-year center logged 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting with seven rebounds and seven blocks against the Broncs (5-13, 3-6 MAAC).
 
Ariana Vanderhoop worked her way into double figures in the scoring column with 11 points. The Boston native added six boards and four helpers to her stat line, while Kaci Donovan chipped in with nine points.

NUMBERS CRUNCH
-Monmouth won the rebounding battle, 34-32.
-It was the fourth straight outing that Monmouth outrebounded the opposition.
-The Hawks assisted on 58 percent of their made shots.
-Three Hawks scored in double figures.
-Thursday's game was the 53rd all-time meeting between Monmouth and Rider.
-The Hawks improved to 30-23 all-time versus the Broncs.

Monmouth will head to Riverdale, N.Y., on Saturday to face off against Manhattan in a MAAC game slated for 2 p.m.
