STAPLETON ANNOUNCES ATHLETICS STAFF PROMOTIONS

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - Monmouth University Director of Athletics Jeff Stapleton has announced several staff promotions and one addition, effective immediately.

"One of the keys to the success of Monmouth Athletics is the longevity and the loyalty of the coaching staff and members of the support staff," said Stapleton. "These promotions are a direct result of that loyalty and dedication and they could not be more deserving. Our entire staff, along with many on the campus community, worked tremendously hard during uncertain and trying times over the past year. I am extremely proud of the work this staff has done during the pandemic."

Stapleton, who took over for retired former Director of Athletics Dr. Marilyn McNeil on July 1, selected his senior staff. Greg Viscomi has been elevated to Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs, Simon Rosenblum to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine and Jarred Weiss to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Business. Stapleton also announced that Jen Sansevero has been hired as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student Development/SWA with Jennifer Lawlor stepping away from her role to spend time with her family.

"I want to thank Jennifer for her guidance over the last five-plus years," said Stapleton. "There is no doubt that she left her mark on this department and many of our student-athletes and coaches benefitted from her leadership. I wish her and her family the best of luck going forward."

Sansevero has spent the previous four years as the Associate Athletic Director for Equity, Inclusion and Compliance/SWA at Wagner College. With the Seahawks, Sansevero served as a member of the Director of Athletics' Executive Staff, was the department liaison with General Counsel, the NCAA and Human Resources, as well as managed all aspects of the compliance department. In addition, Sansevero oversaw the Wagner Sport Performance department, including Strength & Conditioning, Athletic Training, Sport Nutrition, Sport Psychology and Sport Science. Sansevero also established the Sport Administration major at Wagner, while holding sport supervision responsibilities for the men's lacrosse, softball and tennis programs.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jen to Monmouth and have her join us during an exciting time for our department," Stapleton said. "Our coaches, student-athletes and support staff will benefit from her knowledge and experience as an educator and administrator."

Viscomi has been at the University since August of 2006, most recently serving the last four years as the Associate Athletics Director for Communications and New Media. During his time at Monmouth, Viscomi has headed up one of the premier school produced ESPN broadcast teams, led the rebrand of the school's athletic marks and most recently brought INFLCR to Monmouth, one of the first Football Championship Subdivision schools to use the elite content distribution platform. In his new role Viscomi will oversee the external relations team including communications, marketing, ticketing and the Blue/White Club. He will continue to handle the department's strategic communications as well as serve as the sport supervisor for Monmouth's nationally-ranked football program.

Rosenblum has been with the University since September of 2002 and currently serves as the primary sports medicine liaison for Monmouth's men's lacrosse program. He oversees the Hawks' ten-person sports medicine staff as well as Monmouth's strength and conditioning staff. With the rise of the pandemic, Rosenblum was an integral part of Monmouth's return to play, overseeing all COVID testing for student-athletes while serving on both the University's return to campus committee and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) COVID working group. He continually ensures that Monmouth student-athletes receive the best care, continually updating policies, adding state-of-the-art equipment and educating the sports medicine and strength staff.
