Griffin Tomas (Seymour, CT/Seymour) and
Julian Gomez (Fairview, NJ/St. Benedict's) and another shutout for redshirt senior
Sean Murray (Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood), the Monmouth University men's soccer team ran past Delaware on Tuesday night, 4-0.
Tomas opened the scoring in the 38
th minute and closed the scoring in the 90
th minute. Gomez added goals in the 41
st and 72
nd minute, extending his scoring streak to nine games.

Murray stopped four shot attempts to secure his second consecutive shutout.
Monmouth improves to 2-0-1 on the season, and will travel to UConn on Saturday night.

-Monmouth started the scoring in the 38
th minute. Lindner sent a pass from the left side, Tomas dribbled inside the 18, and found the back of the net.
-Less than three minutes later, Gomez made it 2-0 with a shot from just inside the box after taking a feed from Sieg.
-After 31 scoreless minutes, Gomez struck again, tapping home passes from Zakowski and Lyshoj.
-In the 90
th minute, Tomas stole the ball and shot to the bottom right to seal the 4-0 win.

-Gomez has scored a goal in nine straight games played dating back to the spring. He has 25 points in 24 career games.
-Tomas increased his career goal total to three.
-Zakowski notched his eighth assist. He has 26 points in 30 games.
-Lindner picked up his first assist in a Monmouth uniform.
-Murray registered his ninth shutout and now has 205 saves in his career.
-Sieg and Lyshoj earned their first career point.
-Monmouth had a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal.
