LOUDONVILLE, NY – The Monmouth University women's soccer team played league-leading Siena to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon at Hickey Field.
The Hawks struck first in the eighth minute when
Jesi Rossman scored after a long run down the center of the field yielded an opening. She fired a shot just inside the left post to give the Hawks the early advantage.
Monmouth controlled a majority of the play with a 28-7 advantage in shots and a 12-2 edge in corner kicks, one of which Siena capitalized on. The Saints scored their 36
th minute goal when Emily McNelis headed home a set piece delivery.
