Paige Diecidue (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West),
Cassidy Gavaghan (Ambler, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) and
Amanda Hart (Holmdel, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) all finishing at that mark. The second round saw McCook shoot 75 with a pair of birdies, while Diecidue finished with a 79 after rebounding with a one-over 37 on the back nine. MU shot 158 in the final round.
NOTES AND QUOTES
"Just want to start off saying, what an amazing feeling it was to be wearing the Blue and White at the MAAC Championships this week- in a year that we didn't think was possible, it was amazing to be competing. We were heartbroken not to have an opportunity to complete today's final round — this team was just shots away from a third-place finish, striking distance to the best programs in our conference, and proved each day through consistent and well-balanced play, they belong there! The team was on pace to have its best 54-hole MAAC Conference score in our program's history when play was cut short to just 45 holes- so we are disappointed but excited about what the future will bring." – Head Coach
Michelle Melia
"I couldn't be happier for
Liddie McCook - she has worked so hard through three surgeries to put together an impressive spring semester and now has the highlight of an All-MAAC Conference finish with an outstanding performance this week. Our team was well balanced with
Paige Diecidue,
Cassidy Gavaghan,
Amanda Hart, and
Claire Orr battling each day - they did a tremendous job. I'm proud of what we are building here and of our young women, who prove to be amazing competitors, fantastic students, and wear the Blue and White with pride." – Coach Melia
