WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – A pair of goals by
Maddison Perna proved to be the difference for the Monmouth University women's soccer team as the Hawks knocked off Rider in a 2-1 decision on Tuesday evening at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn.
Perna found the back of the net in the 53rd minute with a right-footed shot following a nice buildup in the midfield, then scored again on a highlight-reel header in the 69
th minute.
Rider made things interesting with an 86th minute tally, but the Hawks ultimately held on to the one-goal margin.
