EDISON, NJ – Monmouth University cross country freshman Allie Pierontoni has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Runner of the Week.  
 
In her first meet as a collegiate athlete, Pierontoni had an impressive outing at the Jasper Winter XC Invitational this past Saturday. Pierontoni came in first place out of 56 runners with a time of 18:22.9. Her performance helped the Hawks to a second-place finish in their first meet of the year.
 
Monmouth's cross country teams will be back in action Friday, March 5^th at the MAAC Cross Country Championships in Galloway, NJ.
