HAWKS CATCH FIRE IN 76-63 ROAD WIN IN BROOKLYN

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Four Hawks scored in double figures as the Monmouth women's basketball team wrapped up its 2021-22 non-conference slate with a 76-63 road victory at St. Francis Brooklyn on Monday night.

Monmouth (6-4, 1-0 MAAC) trailed by two, 48-46, late in the third quarter before outscoring the Terriers, 18-6, over a six-minute stretch to build what proved to be an insurmountable lead. During that run, six different Hawks got into the scoring column as Monmouth made 9-of-13 shots from the field.

Kayla Richardson had herself a night, leading the Hawks with a career-best 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting while knocking down all three of her 3-point attempts. The second-year forward added five boards and four assists opposite the Terriers (4-6, 0-0 NEC).

Belle Kranbuhl was effective in the low block, logging a season-high 16 points to go along with seven rebounds and three helpers. Kaci Donovan shot 4-of-7 from the floor with two makes from deep to cap her night with 11 points, while Jania Hall came away with 10 after burying five shots on eight tries from the field.

Zareia Chevre played key minutes for Monmouth and finished with career-high marks in points (6) and rebounds (7).
