WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth women's basketball used a late 14-4 run to grab a 57-45 home victory against Saint Joseph's on Wednesday night at OceanFirst Bank Center.
Monmouth (2-1) saw its second half lead dwindle as St. Joe's (1-2) went on a 14-5 run that spanned nearly 10 minutes and brought the Hawks within two points, 43-41. However, Monmouth stayed the course and responded with its lengthy late run to seal its second straight home victory.
Stella Clark paced the Hawks with 11 points to go along with seven boards, five assists and a pair of steals.
Ariana Vanderhoop and
Jania Hall combined for 18 points with nine apiece while the duo also each corralled four rebounds.
Jen Louro logged a season-best eight in the scoring column, while
Kaci Donovan chipped in with eight off the bench.

-The 11 turnovers were the fewest in a game for Monmouth since Jan. 30, 2021 against Rider.
-The Hawks held their second straight opponent to less than 50 points.
-It's the first time Monmouth accomplished that feat since Jan. 9 and Jan. 11 during the 2019-20 campaign.
-Monmouth set new season-best marks in shooting percentage and 3-point shooting percentage.
-The Hawks evened the all-time series with St. Joe's, 1-1.
