PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Monmouth women's basketball team dropped a non-conference road tilt to Providence, 64-34, on Sunday afternoon.

The Friars (2-4, 0-0 Big East) jumped out to an early advantage after shooting an efficient 57 percent from the field in the first quarter to go ahead, 17-6. A
Lucy Thomas layup to open the second quarter brought the deficit to single digits, but Providence utilized a lengthy run to build its lead back up and never looked back.

Kaci Donovan finished as Monmouth's (2-2, 0-0 MAAC) leading scorer with seven points.
Jania Hall tallied five in the scoring column, while

Belle Kranbuhl and
