POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Monmouth women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Marist in a MAAC road match on Wednesday afternoon.

The Hawks (10-4-1, 6-1-1 MAAC) generated 17 shots with eight coming on goal, but could not get one past the Marist (5-5-2, 4-3-1 MAAC) goalkeeper.

The Red Foxes jumped out to an early advantage after scoring in the sixth minute of action. Despite Monmouth holding an advantage in shots in the opening stanza, Marist carried its 1-0 lead into the break.

In the 65th minute, Marist struck again on a shot placed above a leaping
Rebecca Winslow to gain a 2-0 edge before securing the home win. Â
