BUFFALO –  Lauren Bruno's first goal of the year made the difference for the Monmouth University women's soccer team as it earned a 2-1 victory over Canisius on Saturday afternoon at the Demske Sports Complex.

The Hawks earned their fourth straight win and remained unbeaten in the MAAC after scoring twice after halftime in the match. Both of Monmouth's goals came on corner kick opportunities sent in by Jesi Rossman. The first came when Jill Conklin redirected a service in to open the scoring in the 65th minute. Canisius then responded with a goal less than six minutes later to level the score before Bruno netted the winner in the 81st minute.

The result propelled the Hawks in the MAAC Tournament for the ninth consecutive season.
