PRINCETON, NJ – The Monmouth University cross country teams competed on Saturday morning at the Princeton Invitational. The men's team finished ninth out of 21 teams in the 8k race while the women's team finished fifth out of 21 teams in the 6.1k event.
 
Sammi Ragenklint was towards the front of the pack throughout the entirety of the women's race and crossed the line in second place with a time of 21:22.6. Mackenzie Jones was also among the top 20 finishers, placing 19^th with a time of 22:12.6.
 
Cameron Janovic paced the men's team with a time of 25:13.3 in the 8k event, finishing 28^th overall. Louis DiLaurenzio wasn't far behind in 38^th place, clocking in at 25:22.3 for the Hawks.

"I was really proud of the way we competed today at Princeton.  It was a bit on the warmer side so that made the race a little more difficult than normal.  But we held our own and competed smart.  The men continue to improve each time we compete.  We're making progress every time out. Our best races are still in front of us."

- Allie Pierontoni finished 59^th for Monmouth with a time of 23:23.5
- Marisa Kilgarriff was fourth among the Hawks, earning a 71^st place finish with her time of 23:39.3
- Crossing the line in 73^rd place was Katie Locker, completing the event in 23:40.9 
- Michael Pavicic finished the 8k in 25:35.2, which placed him 53^rd overall in the men's field
- Sebastien Reed and James Hoffman crossed the line in 72^nd and 73^rd place, respectively. Reed posted a time of 25:48.0 while Hoffman clocked in at 25:49.6

Monmouth will travel down to Disney World in Orlando to compete in the MAAC Championships on Saturday, October 30.
