NOTES AND QUOTES

"I was proud of the mentality we came out with today, where we sincerely believed we could beat them. Shots didn't go in early, which got us down a little bit, but we rallied, regrouped, and fought for 40 minutes. I'm proud of the character we demonstrated throughout the season. Today was an example of the resiliency and fight that this group has in them. Even though today didn't go our way and we didn't have our best game, I don't think it's a reflection of the character and effort we've shown all year long. ' - Monmouth head coach Jody Craig

-A three from Jennings with the shot clock running down gave Monmouth a 7-6 lead at the first quarter media timeout.
-Marist ended the first quarter on a 13-0 run, including a buzzer-beating three. After one, the Red Foxes led 19-9.
-Monmouth answered a late 8-0 Marist run with a Graham triple, but the Red Foxes made another buzzer-beating three to end the second quarter. At the break, Marist led 40-22.
-Marist continued their shooting success, making 5-of-7 shots to open the third quarter. With 4:52 left, the Red Foxes led 50-23.
-The Red Foxes eventually went 8-for-11 in the third frame, building a 59-33 lead heading into the fourth.
-Monmouth ended the game on a 9-0 run, but Marist's lead was too much to overcome.
