BASEBALL FALLS AT SAN DIEGO IN WEEKEND OPENER

SAN DIEGO, CA – Monmouth University Baseball (3-5) dropped the opener of a three-game series at the University of San Diego, 7-0.

Will Worthington got the Toreros on the board in the second with a two-run triple, the only runs Dan Klepchick (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks South) would allow. A sac fly in the sixth made it 3-0 before USD broke it open in the seventh, with the big blow coming on Caleb Ricketts' two-RBI triple. MU put runners aboard in the eighth and ninth, including a runner in scoring position in the eighth, but left them stranded.
