WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Women's Golf has been chosen sixth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, league officials announced Monday. The Hawks received 38 votes in the poll.
Albany was picked to win the league with 77 points and six first-place votes, edging out Quinnipiac, who was chosen second with 73 votes and two first-place markers. Dayton also received a first-place vote in third, with Hartford picked fourth. Siena was one point ahead of Monmouth for the fifth spot, with the Blue and White chosen ahead of Niagara, Fairfield and LaSalle.

Michelle Melia's group comes off a successful fall, winning three tournaments. The Hawks captured the Hofstra Fall Shootout, the Monmouth Fall Shootout and the Vanessa Picciotto Perrine Memorial hosted by Wagner. Three Hawks won tournaments as individuals also, with junior
Cassidy Gavaghan (Ambler, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) leading freshmen
Paige Diecidue (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown West) and
Liddie McCook (Chester Springs, PA/Downingtown East) in finishing first overall. Diecidue led MU with a 79.8 stroke average, while seven Hawks posted top-10 finishes in the fall events.
