Two free throws by sophomore Lucy Thomas in the final 30 seconds propelled Monmouth over Saint Peter's on Saturday, 59-57. Thomas ended with 18 points (8-12 FG) and 11 rebounds, registering her fifth double-double of the season. Monmouth shot 22-49 (44.9%) from the floor, and came up with three straight stops on the defensive end to seal the win.
Senior Sierra Green added 13 points, including three triples and a go-ahead layup with 1:09 left.
 
SCOUTING THE IONA GAELS
Iona swept its Buffalo trip over the weekend, defeating Canisius, 60-57 and Niagara, 70-58. Sophomore guard Juana Camilion was named MAAC Player of the Week after averaging 17.7 PPG, while redshirt freshman forward Paulla Weekes was named MAAC Rookie of the Week after adding 9.0 PPG and 5.3 PPG. Senior guard Morgan Rachu leads the team with 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. In addition to Camilion, sophomore guard Shyan Mwai is averaging double-figures at 10.2.  The Gaels are 1-8 at home this season.
