WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ -Â The Monmouth University men's and women's cross country teams were named as All-Academic teams by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the organization announced today. The organization honors every cross country program that accumulates a team GPA over a 3.0.

"This group of student-athletes show excellence in all of their endeavors," said head coach
Mike Nelson. "They're not just runners, they're serious about academics and their professional pursuits."

The men led the MAAC with a team GPA of 3.49. On the women's side, they finished fourth in the conference with a team GPA of 3.42 behind only Marist, Rider, and Siena.

The women's team has now been recognized by the USTFCCCA for the 19
th straight season as an All-Academic team after they accumulated a 3.51 GPA. The men received their 14
th honor in 15 years.
