Despite a season-high 66 points on 44% from the floor, Monmouth fell at Marist on Thursday night, 76-66. The Red Foxes shot 50% from the floor and forced 21 turnovers. Sophomore Lucy Thomas led the Hawks with 14 points, adding six rebounds and two assists in the loss. Redshirt sophomore Jen Louro compiled 13 points, making three of five three-point attempts. Senior Akilah Jennings went into double-figures for the sixth time this season, adding 10 points to go along with six rebounds.
 
SCOUTING THE CANISIUS GOLDEN GRIFFINS
Canisius was selected eighth in the MAAC Preseason Poll. The team has lost seven straight games, including a 68-50 setback to Manhattan in their MAAC opener on Thursday. Preseason All-MAAC Second Team guard D'Jhai Patterson-Ricks leads the team and ranks third in the conference with 17.5 points per game. Senior forward Tiana Pugh is adding 10.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Junior forward Danielle Sanderlin leads the team with 6.0 rebounds per contest to go along with 8.8 points.

The Hawks hold an 8-7 all-time series lead, including a 64-53 win in the MAAC Quarterfinals last season. Monmouth has won three of the last four meetings.
