NOTES AND QUOTES

"I appreciated our poise today. I thought when we got down in the third, we didn't panic. That's the first time we've maintained our poise and slowly chipped away. We had a great chance to be in the game, but some calls didn't go our way, which took away some chances that I thought we had earned. The number of free throws they shot relative to how many we shot reflected that. Not having some of our more experienced players on the floor for longer in this game played a factor." - Monmouth head coach Jody Craig

-Green opened the game with a three-pointer and a three-point play to give the Hawks a 6-3 lead.
-Both teams shot 4-18 from the field in the first quarter, and the Bobcats held on to a 14-11 lead after one.
-Thomas opened the second quarter with a three-pointer to cut the deficit to one, but the Bobcats answered with a 6-0 run.
-Monmouth stormed back with a 13-0 run to go ahead 26-20, including two triples from redshirt sophomore Jen Louro, two Thomas jumpers, and a Jennings three.
-A late Quinnipiac free throw made it 26-21 at halftime.
-The Bobcats took the lead early in the third after a 10-3 run. Thomas quickly tied it back up with a layup.
-Three layups and eight free throws contributed to an 14-0 run to put Quinnipiac up 13 in the third quarter. A buzzer-beating triple gave the Bobcats a 49-35 advantage heading into the final quarter.
-Monmouth registered a 10-2 run in the fourth, including two Green triples, cutting the deficit to eight midway through the quarter.
-The Hawks cut the deficit to six late and outscored Quinnipiac 18-11 in the quarter, but the Bobcats held on for the seven-point win.
