WOMEN’S SOCCER EARNS ROAD WIN AT FDU

TEANECK, NJ – The Monmouth University women's soccer team picked up its first win of the 2019 season with a 1-0 triumph over Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday night at University Stadium.

After controlling the play for a majority of the match, Monmouth finally broke through with the decisive goal in the 83rd minute. Lauren Karabin scored her first goal in a Monmouth uniform with a left-footed shot that dinged off the inside of the far post and into the back of the FDU goal. A run through a couple of defenders by Dana Scheriff set Karabin up for the game-winner.

- Lauren Karabin scored her first-career goal.
- Dana Scheriff registered her first assist of the year and the 26th point of her career.  
- The Hawks finished with a 23-6 edge in shots, 8-1 in shots on goal, and an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks.
- Amanda Knaub made one save in goal for the Hawks to collect her second clean sheet of the season. Knaub now has 32 career shutouts.
- Madie Gibson totaled a team-high four shots on goal.

NEXT UP
The Hawks continue their four-game road trip on September 12 when they travel to Philadelphia for a matchup with Drexel. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
