st-minute goal proved to be the difference in an evenly matched game, as Colgate squeaked past the Monmouth University men's soccer team on Sunday, 1-0.
After back-to-back diving saves from redshirt sophomore goalkeeper
Sean Murray (Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood), the Raiders were able to score the game-winner with a shot to the lower right corner. Murray ended up with five saves in the loss. The Hawks registered a season-high 12 shots on the day, including four on goal.
With six seconds left, Murray sent a long ball into the Colgate box. Sophomore
Ebenezer Owusu (Accra, Ghana) got a good look inside the box, but the Raiders were able to make the save. Monmouth then shot the ball into the net on the rebound, but time had expired.
The Hawks fall to 0-4-0 on the season, and will host Princeton this Wednesday at 7:00 PM.

Sebastian Rodriguez ripped a shot from 25 yards out that hit the crossbar.
-Murray came up with a diving save in the 68
th minute to keep it scoreless. The shot was headed towards the bottom left on a free kick.
-Less than two minutes later, Murray made another diving save, snagging the ball out of mid-air.
-Colgate was able to put one through in the 71
st minute, taking a 1-0 lead.
-The Hawks were awarded a penalty kick in the 81
st minute, but the Colgate goalkeeper made a diving save to his left.
